Value : Circa £1m per annum

Tower Hamlet Homes (THH) is responsible for 25,000 leasehold and tenanted properties in its East London borough. The scope of works includes new electrical mains distribution, new rising, and lateral mains to individual buildings, rewiring of individual properties, installation of domestic fire detection, and the upgrade of communal and emergency lighting and associated systems

A rolling programme of works is now underway, with Electrical Inspection Condition Reports defining the required works for each individual property. We receive instructions to proceed for each property before any work takes place and work within budgetary controls.

The properties included in the programme are predominantly tenement blocks of flats, occupied by a diverse population. Through careful advanced planning, resident communications in multiple languages and a clearly defined programme of works, we’re minimising disruption to residents and building users.

A Resident Liaison Officer is a requirement of the contract to ensure needs of residents and leaseholders are addressed, and property and personal belongings are protected from damage.

Monthly reports include cash flow forecasting and measurement against KPIs to inform monthly progress meetings. The contract also includes a social value commitment – sponsorship and investment in local community projects and activities – which is monitored for compliance.
