Lewisham Homes serves around 13,000 homes of mixed ages and formats – houses, blocks of flats and high-rise blocks, many with communal areas.
RGE Services was commissioned to deliver planned maintenance, responsive repairs, and an emergency call-out service across the entire asset base, covering fire alarms, fire detection equipment and emergency lighting.
We worked with Lewisham Homes to deliver this full set of services within a constrained budget, which involved using single visits to complete multiple services. Our multi-skilled engineering workforce allowed for multiple services to be carried out in a single visit, resulting in notable cost benefits for the client.
There were severe legacy issues that needed addressing as part of the contract. Several instances of non-compliance had left the fire alarm system, fire detection equipment and emergency lighting in an unsafe state.
Our mobilisation process enabled in depth scoping of the improvement works required and we rapidly delivered 100% compliance.
We were recognised by the client for turning the contract around and giving them confidence in their compliance, ultimately increasing the safety of residents. Initially commissioned in 2010, our contract was extended three times.
